American Lit had their Guided Reading for Unit 6 checked. Then, they read "Adam" by Kurt Vonnegut and received a front-and-back worksheet as classwork. Homework: read "Why the Soldiers Won't Talk" pp.1114-1118 and answer questions 1, 2, 4, 6 on p. 1120.

British Lit: complete study guide chapters 1-2 and read BNW chapters 3-4.

Monday-Tuesday, April 11-12, 2011

American Lit: Flannery O'Connor questions 1-9 were checked; in some classes, "The Jilting of Granny Weatherall" was discussed. On Tuesday, students had their  vocab 12 hw checked and completed a guided reading for Unit 6 (tonight's homework).

British Lit: Reviewed for Romanticism test and then took that test (on Tuesday). Homework: Read BNW 1-2.

American lit peer-reviewed a rough draft copy of their paper and looked at the procedure for turnitin.com. Tomorrow their research papers are due with the following:
-- Rough draft with peer review sheet
-- 2 Final Copies
-- Note-cards

All this should be in a folder with pockets.

British Lit began John Keats, reading "When I Have Fears That I May Cease to Be."

American Lit got back their Regionalism/Naturalism tests; looked at a sample of the Works Cited page; got a theme for "The Death of the Hired Man," and began reading T.S. Eliot's "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock."

British Lit began Shelley, reading "Ozymandias" and "Ode to the West Wind."
